Don't miss Autumn Trad this weekend!

Over 21st-23rd October, the very best in young traditional music talent - Eryn Rae, Michael Biggins, Lewis McLaughlin and Binky Blue - all take to the stage for the 2nd annual Autumn Trad festival at The Vault Arts Centre, Newton Stewart. There'll also be fantastic tune sessions all weekend.

Event of the Year nomination?

Lewis McLaughlin confirmed for Autumn Trad!

We are very excited to present Edinburgh-born singer-songwriter and instrumentalist Lewis McLaughlin who is confirmed for this year's Autumn Trad Festival on 21st-23rd October. Lewis will be performing live on Saturday 22nd October at The Vault Arts Centre, Newton Stewart. Tickets on sale now!

Announcement - Ryan Young Postponement

Due to personal circumstances beyond his control, Ryan has had to postpone his performance at Autumn Trad festival this coming 21st-23rd October. If you know Ryan, you'll know how disappointed he'll be about this, but he's promised to reschedule. Meanwhile, we'll announce a replacement very soon.

Wonderful to see Wigtown Book Festival back. Running from 23rd September - 2nd October, this is one of Scotland's best cultural events featuring bestselling authors, writers and thinkers, bookshops, antiques, stargazing, outdoor cinema, dancing and whisky tasting!

Don't miss Stranraer Oyster Festival this weekend!

After a significant break, it is fantastic to see Stranraer Oyster Festival back. From 2nd-4th September, Stranraer Development Trust are bringing top chefs, inspiring speakers, amazing entertainers and leading oyster experts together for a fabulous seafood celebration on the shores of Loch Ryan.

Kelton arrives safe and sound

Official programmes available from Friday 8th July

Hot off the press, the official programme for this year's festival will be available from The Vault Arts Centre from 1pm tomorrow and at the evening concert events in the new Festival Marquee.

Fiddle workshop with Megan Níc Fhionnghaile

Currently studying Irish Music at the Irish World Academy in the University of Limerick, Megan Níc Fhionnghaile - who is performing at the Saturday night concert - will be hosting a fiddle workshop at 10:30am on Saturday 9th July 2022 at McMillan Hall. FREE for under 25s or £12 for everyone else.

Festival workshops announced

It wouldn't be festival Saturday without the workshops which, as always, are completely FREE for under 25s and just £12 per person, per workshop, for everyone else. Learn flute/whistle with Sarah Markey, tenor banjo with Marty Barry and bodhrán with Michael Drain.

Kelton confirmed for Highland Dancing Competition

Trevor Leat's incredible wicker sculpture of a Belted Galloway will be appearing at Minnigaff Playing Fields on Saturday 9th July 2022 to accompany, and oversee, the Scottish Highland Dancing competition which kicks off from 11:15am.

The 10th annual Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival takes place over the 12th-14th July 2024. It's an incredible achievement.
