Highland dancing competition in 2019

Registered with the Royal Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing, reference BJ4, applications are now open in Primary, Beginners & Novice, Intermediate & Premier sections for this year's Scottish Highland Dancing Competition which looks set to be another fantastic event this year.

All dancers will be accompanied by Scottish piper Gregor Norris, and they will perform a range of dances depending on which categories they've entered.

The event takes place at Minnigaff Playing Fields on Saturday 9th July, with competition commencing from 11:15am.

As well as the dancing there will also be some very special surprises for you at the park, including Kelton, a fantastic wicker sculpture of a Belted Galloway, inflatables by Dana Stewart and face painting with Little Penguin Paints.

There will also be catering from Sneaky Snacks Desserts and an Ice Cream Van.

Entry is completely free, so please bring the whole family for a fantastic day of entertainment.

Outstanding sponsorship support from Five Kingdoms Brewery

Serving local produce ensures that the project supports local businesses and the local community. A huge favourite are the beers from Five Kingdoms Brewery which are brewed in Isle of Whithorn. We are hugely grateful to Alastair and his team for their very generous support for this year's festival.

With so many outstanding musicians in Newton Stewart this weekend it would be foolish not to take full advantage, and we've done just that with a superb programme of traditional music workshops which are included as part of the Weekend Pass ticket, £10 per adult or £Free for under 25s.
