A tune session in full flow at the festival in 2019
With lockdown easing paused for a further 3 weeks, which runs into this year's dates, Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival will, instead, focus on what has made the event so popular; the fantastic tune and song sessions which take place at venues throughout the towns.
We'll be announcing exactly which venues will be hosting sessions over 9th-11th July very soon, which includes the charity's wonderful new venue, The Vault Arts Centre, which is right in the centre of town and which will have a fully licensed bar for the entire weekend.
This is the second year running that Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival has had to, effectively, cancel it's main event after a devastating 16 months, so we're absolutely heartbroken, again, that this hugely popular, community run, event can't go ahead as it would have liked this year, however we do have backup plans for September so please keep an eye out for news updates there too!
We really appreciate all the messages of support we've received and we'd be delighted to see you this coming July anyway sure, for tunes and songs together. We hope you'll still join us and, as well as all the fantastic music you'll also get a chance to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Dumfries & Galloway.
