The Vault Arts Centre Closure

17 Mar 20
by Nathon Jones

The Vault Arts Centre

It is with a heavy heart that, as a result of the current public health situation with Coronavirus, we are announcing the closure of The Vault Arts Centre from the 17th March - 30th April. Our plan is to re-open on 1st May 2020, subject to advice and guidance from the Scottish government.

Trad Music Trust is a responsive and community-led organisation that cares deeply about its staff, volunteers, audiences, performing artists, tutors and the local communities we serve.

As a result of the current public health situation with Coronavirus we have decided, following - as best we can! - the advice from the Scottish & UK Governments, to take a series of measures which are detailed below.

Concerts & Tuition
From today (Tuesday 17th March), all programming for public events - concerts and tuition - is cancelled until 1st May 2020.

Private Bookings
For outside groups using The Vault Arts Centre for their own private room bookings, we will not be accepting any bookings for dates prior to 1st May 2020.

We will make further announcements once the situation becomes clearer and we hope that you'll join us for a packed programme of activities and events once we're able to safely begin those again.

We'd like to thank everyone for their support during this difficult time.

Thank you
Regards

Outstanding sponsorship support from Five Kingdoms Brewery

Serving local produce ensures that the project supports local businesses and the local community. A huge favourite are the beers from Five Kingdoms Brewery which are brewed in Isle of Whithorn. We are hugely grateful to Alastair and his team for their very generous support for this year's festival.

Workshops at this year's festival

With so many outstanding musicians in Newton Stewart this weekend it would be foolish not to take full advantage, and we've done just that with a superb programme of traditional music workshops which are included as part of the Weekend Pass ticket, £10 per adult or £Free for under 25s.

Highland dancing competition unable to go ahead this year

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the postponement of this year's Highland dancing competition at Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival. Continued funding cuts have meant some very difficult decisions have had to be made, however we do hope to bring this back in 2025.
