Brilliant news! Continuing a long running tradition at Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival, we are delighted to be welcoming BBC Radio Scotland's Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2020, piper and whistle player Alexander Levack, who will perform at this year's event.

Alexander will perform on opening night at the McMillan Hall in a concert that also features The Sarah Markey Band and The Damien O'Kane & Ron Block Band.  What a line up!

Since the festival began, in 2014, we have always had the BBC Radio Scotland's Young Traditional Musician of the Year winner performing and teaching at the event so it's fantastic to be able to maintain that into 2020.

It's going to be an absolutely incredible opening night concert.

Tickets are on sale now:

We are hugely grateful to Alastair and his team for their very generous support for this year's festival.
