Kasama

Kasama
Kasama, from the Filipino 'to be together' represents teamwork, togetherness and camaraderie.

A new and exciting young indie rock band from Kirkcudbright, Scotland, Kasama are Tyee Wright (Lead Vocals/Songwriter), Andrew McCulloch (Lead Guitar), Adam Kherbouch (Rhythm Guitar), Scott Christie (Bass Guitar) and Tom Pearsall (Drums).

Connor Clark & The Matador Kings
Connor Clark & The Matador Kings started out in late 2017, playing gigs in Aberdeen and Perth.  In summer 2018 the band recorded 3 singles at 45 A-Side Recordings, Glasgow, and played their first show in October 2018 with This Feeling.

They released their first single, Echoes and Patience in November 2018, a burst of high energy and a catchy chorus, it quickly caught on to Aberdeen’s music scene, followed by a second single release, Stand Alone, in early 2019.

The band embarked on their first Scottish tour in May 2019, playing Kilted Kangaroo (Stirling), NICE N SLEAZY (Glasgow), Sneaky Pete’s (Edinburgh) and finishing off on home soil at Cafe Drummonds (Aberdeen).

The band are Connor Clark (Singer/Songwriter, Guitarist), Ray Evans (Bassist), Euan Hall (Drummer) and Dylan Craig Thomson-Evans (Lead Guitarist/Backing Vocals).

Workshops at this year's festival

With so many outstanding musicians in Newton Stewart this weekend it would be foolish not to take full advantage, and we've done just that with a superb programme of traditional music workshops which are included as part of the Weekend Pass ticket, £10 per adult or £Free for under 25s.

Highland dancing competition unable to go ahead this year

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the postponement of this year's Highland dancing competition at Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival. Continued funding cuts have meant some very difficult decisions have had to be made, however we do hope to bring this back in 2025.
