E Awards 2019 - Best Festival Finalists

Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Best Festival category at E Awards 2019, Scotland's events and festivals industry awards which showcase excellence in Scottish events and festivals.

It's a fantastic start to the year for the festival and we're delighted to be rubbing shoulders with such prestigious events as the Big Big Gin Festival (Edinburgh Corn Exchange), Christmas for All (University of St Andrews), Paisley's Halloween Festival (Renfrewshire Council) and Party at The Palace (Party at The Palace) who have also been shortlisted in the Best Festival category.

The winners will be announced at the E Awards 2019 Summer Party on Thursday 13th June 2019 at the Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh, where we will be celebrating the amazing achievements of our fellow event professionals.

We are hugely grateful to Alastair and his team for their very generous support for this year's festival.

Workshops at this year's festival

With so many outstanding musicians in Newton Stewart this weekend it would be foolish not to take full advantage, and we've done just that with a superb programme of traditional music workshops which are included as part of the Weekend Pass ticket, £10 per adult or £Free for under 25s.

Highland dancing competition unable to go ahead this year

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the postponement of this year's Highland dancing competition at Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival. Continued funding cuts have meant some very difficult decisions have had to be made, however we do hope to bring this back in 2025.
