Tim Edey - Friday 6th July 2018 at the Festival Marquee

Absolutely thrilled to be able to announce that Tim Edey will be making it to Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival next year with a headline performance on Friday 6th July 2018 in the Festival Marquee.

As many of you will know, Tim was unable to make it this year which was hugely disappointing for both us and Tim.  He promised us, however, that he would make it up to us and he has done so in style with a headline performance on Friday 6th July 2018 followed by a guitar workshop on Saturday 7th July 2018.

We can't wait to welcome Tim to Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival, to hear his wonderful music and stories and to pick up guitar playing tips and advice from one of the best guitarist on the circuit at the guitar workshop will also be something absolutely unique for the region so please make sure you book early as we were heavily subscribed for both this year.

Workshops at this year's festival

With so many outstanding musicians in Newton Stewart this weekend it would be foolish not to take full advantage, and we've done just that with a superb programme of traditional music workshops which are included as part of the Weekend Pass ticket, £10 per adult or £Free for under 25s.

Highland dancing competition unable to go ahead this year

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the postponement of this year's Highland dancing competition at Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival. Continued funding cuts have meant some very difficult decisions have had to be made, however we do hope to bring this back in 2025.
