Emily Smith Songs for Christmas Live at Crafty Distillery

Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival are proud to present Emily Smith's annual Christmas show 'Songs For Christmas' live at Crafty Distillery, Newton Stewart, on Friday 22nd December 2017 from 7:30pm featuring Emily Smith, Jamie McClennan and Anna Massie. Book now!

The perfect way to start your Christmas holidays, Emily Smith presents a beautiful blend of original and traditional songs drawn from her folk background combined to inspire and celebrate the festive season.

From humble beginnings in a rural farm shop in 2012 Emily has honed a unique, family friendly Christmas night out. In 2016 she released the accompanying album from which her song ‘Find Hope’ was play listed on BBC Radio 2.   Her material has also been featured on BBC Songs of Praise Christmas special.

Sing along with traditional carols, tap your toes to upbeat instrumentals or simply close your eyes and let Emily’s evocative voice help you dwell on the joy and peace that Christmas can bring.

Emily will be joined by her band Jamie McClennan & Anna Massie (guitars, fiddles & vocals).

Tickets are available by calling the box office on 01671 404924 / 07762 064 298 or at door on the night at Crafty Distillery however we do recommend booking in advance as Emily's Christmas shows are very popular.

Workshops at this year's festival

With so many outstanding musicians in Newton Stewart this weekend it would be foolish not to take full advantage, and we've done just that with a superb programme of traditional music workshops which are included as part of the Weekend Pass ticket, £10 per adult or £Free for under 25s.

Highland dancing competition unable to go ahead this year

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the postponement of this year's Highland dancing competition at Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival. Continued funding cuts have meant some very difficult decisions have had to be made, however we do hope to bring this back in 2025.
