Learn harp with Becky Hill

Learn harp with Scottish Royal Conservatoire student, multi-instrumentalist and composer Becky Hill on Saturday 8th July at Newton Stewart Centre. Workshops are free for under 25's or just £10.00 if you're over 25.

Becky will be performing at the finale concert at the McMillan Hall on Saturday 8th July with BBC Radio Scotland's Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2017, Charlie Stewart, so whilst these two wonderful musicians are in Galloway we thought we'd ask if they would be good enough to facilitate a couple of workshops for us and we're delighted that they both agreed.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be taught by one of Scotland's finest young harp players and a very talented musician.

Tickets and venue information are available online, simply click the button below, or call the box office on 07762 064 298.

Workshops at this year's festival

With so many outstanding musicians in Newton Stewart this weekend it would be foolish not to take full advantage, and we've done just that with a superb programme of traditional music workshops which are included as part of the Weekend Pass ticket, £10 per adult or £Free for under 25s.

Highland dancing competition unable to go ahead this year

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the postponement of this year's Highland dancing competition at Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival. Continued funding cuts have meant some very difficult decisions have had to be made, however we do hope to bring this back in 2025.
