The Vault is offering lessons in piano, guitar and violin currently, with ukulele lessons in the future if interest is shown! All of our teachers are incredibly talented and skilled musicians that can introduce you to the very basics or even provide seasoned musicians with great tips to improve!
The Vault is incredibly passionate about providing music education to all and making the arts more accessible within Dumfries and Galloway. This is why we are offering music lessons in multiple instruments to anyone who feels like they want to learn a new instrument or those who want to improve their skills in an instrument they already play!
Private piano lessons are available to be booked on enquiry and take place every Tuesday from anytime between 12pm and 5pm. The lessons are £20.00 an hour.
Violin lessons are available every second Tuesday. Beginners lessons start at 5pm and finish at 6pm. Intermediate lessons begin and 7pm and finish at 9pm. Beginner lessons are £10 or Free for under 25s. Intermediate lessons are £20.00 or Free for under 25s. Please contact us if interested in attending these lessons. Guitar lessons are available to book and take place every Wednesday from 3pm till 6pm. These are currently only available to under 25s and are free. Ukulele and tin whistle lesson can also be arranged if enough interest is shown. If you or anyone you know is interested in Ukulele/Tin whistle lessons don't hesitate to contact us!
Over 16th-18th May, musicians and music lovers will head to The Vault Arts Centre for a weekend of concerts, workshops and jam sessions featuring some of the very best bluegrass/Americana/old-time performing artists from Scotland, Ireland, England, Canada and the USA; and what a programme it is!

This year's SpringGrass Bluegrass Festival 16th-18th May 2025 gives you the chance to learn from the very best bluegrass musicians on the scene right now including Charlotte Carrivick (guitar), Evan Davies (mandolin), Eleanor Wilkie (bass), Kieran Towers (fiddle) and Eilidh Patterson (songwriting).

Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary over 11th-13th July 2025. It's an incredible achievement.
