Trad Music Trust at the Scottish Parliament with the Culture & Business Fund Scotland

There has never been a better time to get involved with Trad Music Trust and Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival, and to add your support to the growing list of sponsors and partners who are helping the charity deliver valuable arts & culture programming in Wigtownshire.

With a recent feature on ITV Border's Lookaround news programme and articles in The Galloway News and Daily Record, as well as Tourism Champion finalists at the recent Dumfries & Galloway Life Awards, it's an event, and organisation, that has started to attract both National and International interest and which is now reaching larger audiences.

It is estimated, through analysis by Dumfries & Galloway Council, that the annual music festival had an economic impact of £130,320 in Dumfries & Galloway in 2018 so as well as supporting the organisation you'll be supporting tourism in Dumfries & Galloway and the local economy.

You'll also be supporting the arts, culture and heritage of Scotland through the continued music, dance and language workshops, concerts and performances both at the annual music festival and also at the proposed new arts centre in Newton Stewart which is scheduled to open in Spring 2019.

You can sponsor us online by selecting the level of sponsorship you'd like to offer on the Support page of the official website, or just give us a call on 01671 404924 or e-mail at festival@tradmusic.com and we'd be delighted to speak to you. Thank you for your support and generosity.

Official Sponsors 2019: Baillie Gifford, Belhaven Brewery, Five Kingdoms Brewery, Creebridge House Hotel, Balloch O' Dee Campsite

Outstanding sponsorship support from Five Kingdoms Brewery

Serving local produce ensures that the project supports local businesses and the local community. A huge favourite are the beers from Five Kingdoms Brewery which are brewed in Isle of Whithorn. We are hugely grateful to Alastair and his team for their very generous support for this year's festival.

Workshops at this year's festival

With so many outstanding musicians in Newton Stewart this weekend it would be foolish not to take full advantage, and we've done just that with a superb programme of traditional music workshops which are included as part of the Weekend Pass ticket, £10 per adult or £Free for under 25s.

Highland dancing competition unable to go ahead this year

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the postponement of this year's Highland dancing competition at Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival. Continued funding cuts have meant some very difficult decisions have had to be made, however we do hope to bring this back in 2025.
