Fantastic line-up for Girvan 2019

Girvan’s guest list for 2019 is very typical of ‘Girvan’ and promises lots of great musical experiences from people firmly rooted in the tradition. It's a terrific festival, now into it's 44th year which is an outstanding achievement, and a line-up this year that has something for everyone.

This year happens to have many more solo performers that formally established folk groups – but there is a plan behind this.  Many people see Girvan as a ‘meeting place’; a chance to see old friends and to rub shoulders with traditional musicians from all ‘airts and pairts’ and within the guests, and visitors, there will be lots of opportunities for people to share in performance for some unique experiences.

Guest for 2019 include...Bob Fox – Cathal McConnell – Jock Tamson’s Ideal Band – James Patterson & John Dipper – Fiona Ross & Shane O’Mara – Rosie Stewart – The McKeaney Sisters – Fiona Heywood, Jim Byrne and Peter Campbell – Kathryn Nicoll & Karen Marshalsay – Dave Goulder – Dick Gaughan – Colum Sands – Bob Blair – Sandra Kerr – Scott Gardiner – Mike Vass – Gary West – Ollie Rigg – Hamish Denholm – Ali & Maggie Macrae – Heather Yule – Bill Barclay –  The Barrstools – Artie Trezise – Susie Kelly – Artie’s Tartan Tales – Jock’s Jocks – The Bobby Robb Tribute Concert …and more.

Girvan Traditional Folk Festival takes place from 3rd - 5th May 2019 and we'd recommend booking accommodation early as it's always a busy weekend.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Outstanding sponsorship support from Five Kingdoms Brewery

Serving local produce ensures that the project supports local businesses and the local community. A huge favourite are the beers from Five Kingdoms Brewery which are brewed in Isle of Whithorn. We are hugely grateful to Alastair and his team for their very generous support for this year's festival.

Workshops at this year's festival

With so many outstanding musicians in Newton Stewart this weekend it would be foolish not to take full advantage, and we've done just that with a superb programme of traditional music workshops which are included as part of the Weekend Pass ticket, £10 per adult or £Free for under 25s.
