Scottish dancers at the 2018 festival

We'd like to take this opportunity to wish everyone who visits the website, the wonderful audiences at the events we host and the sponsors and funders who so generously support what we do, a fantastic and happy new year.

2018 was an outstanding year for the organisation. We hosted the 5th annual Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival in July to our largest audiences yet, welcomed 38 young dancers to a brand new Scottish Highland dancing competition - which we're delighted to be running again in 2019 - and we gained charitable status under our new organisation title, Trad Music Trust.

We're looking forward to another fantastic year and we can't wait to tell you about the exciting projects we have lined up so please stay tuned for that.

For now, we hope you've got the Christmas tree down and are well and truly recovered from any New Year over-indulgences!  We look forward to seeing you in 2019.

Autumn Trad Festival 2025 update

Despite best efforts to promote this year's Autumn Trad Festival - an event that champions young people in traditional music and which was due to celebrate its 5th annual event this year - a lack of funding and poor ticket sales may see the event cancelled.
