Don't miss a fantastic opportunity to be taught photography by one of the region's top professional photographers, David Moses davidmoses.photoshelter.com, and learn how to properly use your camera.
We're delighted to be offering the photography course again and this year we've gone one better than last year with a 6 week course that's designed to give you the best opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge you need to take the perfect photograph.
The course takes place at Newton Stewart Centre, just behind the Library, with the first session at 6pm-8pm on Thursday 18th May and then weekly until Thursday 22nd June. The course costs £60.00 per person for the whole course, which if you know David Moses and his work is an absolute bargain by the way, or if you're aged 25 or under the course is absolutely free. All that's required is that you have your own DSLR or Mirrorless camera. Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.
Once the course is over you will be given the opportunity, should you wish, to join David as the official photographers for the 2017 Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music Festival giving you the opportunity to put your new skills and knowledge into practice in a real-life project. You'll also get to the enjoy the music and the atmosphere at the festival this year - I did mention that you'll get free access to all events with your Press Pass, didn't I? ;)
If you'd like to take part then please e-mail festival@tradmusic.com or telephone 01671 404924 with your name, age, address, telephone number and/or e-mail address and we'll get you booked on the course straight away.
Payment can be made over the phone or on the evening of the first session however if you are unable to attend the first session payment must be made before 18th May.
Looking forward to seeing your photographs after the festival and hearing all about the course.
