External Condensation

External Condensation

External Condensation on highly insulated windows.

External condensation is caused by a natural phenomenon, due to atmospheric pressures usually when a warm front follows a dry spell, on a cloud free night when there is little wind.  Dew (external condensation) can be found on the external pane of your windows, however there are also other contributing factors such as the local micro climate - how sheltered you, how close a hedge is etc., this could cause some windows to be affected but not others in the same house.  This all means that your windows are going the job they are supposed to do, keeping your heat in.  The low emissivity coating reflects the heat back into the room so not much heat is escaping so the external pane presents a colder pane to the external elements which can be a lower temperature than the dew point of the air causing the external condensation.  These exact conditions cannot be predicted but are more likely to be in late spring and early autumn.  The dew will dissipate quite quickly just as the dew on the grass or your windscreen does.  Should you have any concerns please do not hesitate to contact us for further information.

Outstanding sponsorship support from Five Kingdoms Brewery

Serving local produce ensures that the project supports local businesses and the local community. A huge favourite are the beers from Five Kingdoms Brewery which are brewed in Isle of Whithorn. We are hugely grateful to Alastair and his team for their very generous support for this year's festival.
