D&G Life Awards 2023

The Dumfries & Galloway Life Awards 2023 are now open for entries.

Who makes Dumfries & Galloway great? Who goes the extra mile to help others? Do you know of a charity or a group that really looks after its community? Who really stands out when it comes to making and serving great food in the region? Which businesses should be recognized for their success, or entrepreneurial spirit? Who are your tourism champions, environmental champions and sporting heroes? Who’s making a difference in the education sector? Do you have a favourite artist or maker, actor, performer, musician or band? They would love to hear from you. Whether you want to highlight an unsung hero, a rising star, a major accomplishment or an outstanding experience, the Dumfries & Galloway Life Awards are a great way for you to recognize, and say thank you to, those people who make Dumfries & Galloway so special.

The Trad Music Trust team are hoping to nominate our annual Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival for the Tourism Champion category. We would greatly appreciate if those who were impacted positively by the festival could lend a hand and nominate us. The team have been working incredibly hard to put D&G on the map since the festival was established in 2014. It would mean a tremendous amount to highlight the impact we have had on this incredible community. Thank you to everyone who attended the festival and all the local businesses that supported us this year.

Entry forms can be found here: https://forms.office.com/e/mk6GCxkN2g

Outstanding sponsorship support from Five Kingdoms Brewery

Serving local produce ensures that the project supports local businesses and the local community. A huge favourite are the beers from Five Kingdoms Brewery which are brewed in Isle of Whithorn. We are hugely grateful to Alastair and his team for their very generous support for this year's festival.

Workshops at this year's festival

With so many outstanding musicians in Newton Stewart this weekend it would be foolish not to take full advantage, and we've done just that with a superb programme of traditional music workshops which are included as part of the Weekend Pass ticket, £10 per adult or £Free for under 25s.
