Toy Hospital + Quiet, The Art
sleepy eyed and The Vault Arts Centre presents another two outstanding Scottish bands, Toy Hospital + Quiet, The Art, LIVE on Saturday 16th November 2024. Tickets on sale now.
Born as a lockdown recording project by Kirkcaldy's Martyn Rollo Rose, He released the album ' Changed Priorities Ahead ' on Christmas day in 2020 under the moniker Toy Hospital. Since then, Toy Hospital has morphed into a full band rounded out by Ed Ritchie on bass, Paul Grant on guitar and Kyle Watson on drums.
The Emo / Alt-Rock band are now based in Edinburgh. The songs have shifted and developed as the band have expanded into its current format and the singles 'Body Heat' and 'Live at EFR' were released as full band recordings towards the end of 2023.
Following on from this, as the album 'Changed Priorities Ahead' was originally released before a live show was ever played, it never got the release show it deserved. This is now to be rectified. In conjunction with John Anaya's Humpback Recording, the band will return to their hometown to hold a special event on 28th September. This will be held at The Humpback HQ, a beautiful old church, latterly a venue known as 'Kokos'.
On the night, The band will perform the entire record live from front to back, with the audience receiving a copies of the finished recording afterwards.
Quiet, the Art are a duo from Edinburgh, Scotland, creating an exciting take on post-rockand shoegaze that the Heard not Herd blog has described as 'impossible to pigeonhole'.
"'Ghostly' is quite simply a lovely piece of art...song you need to make proper space and time for; which reminds the importance taking breath." - Music Observer blog
With 5 singles and some initial live shows under their belt, the band are now looking to take their sound on the road around UK venues and beyond.
"...fantastic...it’s difficult to liken this band anyone else because they really do have such a unique sound." - Discovery Music
