Lussa
Inspired by the Latin word for "light", Lussa is an upcoming folk band based in Glasgow. We create fresh, spirited arrangements of both original and traditional tunes.
Lussa's unique sound and style has evolved from the varied musical backgrounds of our members, bringing a taste of tradition from Scotland and further afield. Fiddlers Elisabet McConnel and Naomi Priestnall are joined by pianist Bailey McCoo and multi-instrumentalist Eneko Lane to form a musically tight, lively show.
Rose Byers
At the age of 18, Rose Byers has already made a name for herself in the traditional music scene. She is passionate about Scots song, in particular the works of Robert Burns, and has performed and played the fiddle across the country, from the Scottish Parliament to Celtic Connections.
With her beautiful clear voice, she has attracted a growing audience. In 2021, she won a Creative Scotland competition to record her first single which she wrote and was accompanied by Aaron Jones. Among her awards are the British Museum's National Volunteer of the Year for her work as Youth Ambassador of Ellisland, Burns' farm near Auldgirth. She was also named Dumfries & Galloway Life Magazine's Performer of the Year in 2018.
Rose is currently on a four year degree in Traditional Music at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow.
