Galloway Forest Park at Kirroughtree

Project Co-ordinator and Festival Director Nathon Jones will be taking to the Galloway Forest Park this coming May to run/cycle in the Galloway Hillbillies Kirroughtree Hillbilly Duathlon, a 10km run and 18km mountain bike, to raise funds for The Vault Arts Centre and annual music & dance festival.

The Kirroughtree Hillbilly Duathlon consists of a 10km trail run followed by an 18km mountain bike around the flowing trails of the Galloway Forest Park. The run follows walkers paths and forest road, with the mountain bike route sticking to the 7stanes red route (The Twister).

Last chance for D&G Life nomination

Did you visit the festival this year? Maybe you've been involved in some of the projects Trad Music Trust are delivering in the region? If so, we'd really appreciate it if you could spare a couple of minutes to nominate us for a D&G Life Award, the deadline for which is this Sunday.

Unbelievable Festival Weekend

The dust has finally settled on what was, quite simply, the best weekend of live music & dance that we've ever experienced at the festival. From a packed opening night, the undeniable passion and emotion at the McMillan Hall and Dougie MacLean's wonderful finale, it was unforgettable!

6th annual music festival

The 6th annual Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival will take place over 12th-14th July 2019 and, after another outstanding programme of events in 2018 which saw us hosting Scottish Highland Dancing competitions and, as ever, some of the biggest names in traditional music, it looks set to be another packed programme and is really living up to it's reputation as one of the best rural arts festivals in Dumfries & Galloway.
