Since their debut demo in 2017, Tiderays have released two singles. In July 2018 they released ‘The Anchor’, engineered and produced by Rod Jones (Idlewild) at Post Electric Studios, Leith, Scotland. The Anchor was played extensively across digital networks and was featured by Jim Gellatly on Amazing Radio.

In October 2018, they released ‘Papillon’. Engineered and produced by Dave Miller (Electric Fields, Big Burns Supper, ONR.) at Circa 16 Recording Studios in Dumfries. This has been picked up by both digital and FM stations in Scotland and around the UK. It received Jim Gellatly’s ‘Track of the Day’ on Amazing Radio in November and then was featured on the BBC Introducing Mixtape by Tom Robinson on BBC Radio 6 Music.

On 16th December 2018, they received the accolade of ‘Artist of the Week’ by Born to be Wide in The Scotsman newspaper in partnership with The Association of Independent Music.

2019 saw Tiderays tour large parts of the UK, including the north of England and a short tour of Scotland in the winter.

The debut album ‘Moving On’, will be released in physical format on November 29th 2019 and for digital download January 31st 2020.

6th annual music festival

The 6th annual Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival will take place over 12th-14th July 2019 and, after another outstanding programme of events in 2018 which saw us hosting Scottish Highland Dancing competitions and, as ever, some of the biggest names in traditional music, it looks set to be another packed programme and is really living up to it's reputation as one of the best rural arts festivals in Dumfries & Galloway.
